SUSTAINABILITY

What does it take to build a fashion brand that is good for the planet, the people in it and still turns a profit?

What materials, design processes and choices can minimize a garment’s environmental impact?

 How can design align with doing social good?

We don’t have all the answers, but we can start by being honest. We are not perfect. As a brand, we are as imperfect as you are but want as badly as you do to make the world a better place. We are an aiming 100% sustainable clothing brand, operating a modern and responsible business. Each decision we make is a symbol of our commitment to defining what the future of fashion looks like. Pioneering new alternative materials, pushing towards circularity, protecting ancient and endangered forests, to measuring our impact with ground-breaking tools – commitment and sustainable development are our keywords.

LONG-TERM THINKING

We have quality at the forefront of our minds when designing each piece. Our small team of creatives can truly focus on selecting the most effective, renewable fabrics that will last, whilst encouraging consumers to keep and love their pieces right through into next season. We aim to create premium pieces that will stand the test of time, fashionably speaking. We design and produce to transcend trends and seasons, concentrating on fit, comfort, and durability.

We exclusively use raw materials and trims sourced, directly, by our team at certified suppliers. As manufacturers, we are actively involved in innovative developing processes of new fabrics and production practices. We have always strived to work with premium quality and environmentally friendly materials, ensuring the lowest possible impact.

The source of materials used happens in rigorous accordance with the following principles:

– Protection of biodiversity;

– Perseveration of the functionality of ecosystems;

– Manage and conserve water;

– Cruelty-free practices.

We do not use in our production of our garments the following: Ivory, fur, exotic animal products and leather.

WE ARE ALL PART OF THE PROBLEM AND THE SOLUTION

Fashion needs a detox. We are on an urgent deadline but we are also at the beginning of our journey as a positive agent for change: it’s a new responsibility, and all together we have to understand this new responsibility. From fabrics to handmade packaging we strive to work with local producers who we call by name.

A LINE believes in the concept of Fair Trade: pay the fair price for the raw materials and services purchased, giving preference to the local market. Our supply chain is as short as possible, working exclusively with those who share our values of paying living wages, treating workers with respect and providing safe, comfortable working conditions.

We consider the people who make the clothes as important as the people who wear them. We encourage people to not only care about what they put in their bodies, but what they put on their bodies. That is one of the reasons we are so into soft colors, so we can protect the skin from allergic reactions and make our clothes adaptable to all of our clients – even the ones with sensitive skin.

SMALL STEPS MAKE A BIG DIFFERENCE

As customers, you have the power to ask the questions. It is important to think about how your purchase affects the environment, the lifecycle of your garment, and how to invest in clothes that last longer. By empowering our customers, we believe we can make a lasting difference here and now.
